Although the Schythe is rarely dedicated to any individual, the staff felt the historical significance of the Vice President's visit and the natural appreciation accompanying this honor merited his obvious selection. Mr. Vice President, your decision to make Tinley Park the site for one of your first official appearances inspired us. More im- portantly, your determination to come here during' Youth Week showed a personal con- cern for young people in the highest echelons of our government. You may have come to honor the youth of Tinley Park and especially our fine football team, but we feel you did more than that. Your visit to Tinley was a convincing' dis- play of faith in all the youth throughout America. Thanks again for coming, Mr. Vice Presi- dent!
