He felt that homemaking and ser- vice were very important. Timpview had the Omega chapter of Fu- ture Homemakers of America. Omega was the largest club in the world in membership, the only club which was open to any student in high school. Many schools had all students holding membership. The National Headquarters for Omega were in Washington. D C. and the direc- tors worked closely with the U.S. Office of Education. Sir Talon admired the Omega members. 39

French Club inging, playing, and eating were the favorite activities of the German Club. A five- course German meal at Schoewald Terrace filled their tummies and broadened their hori- zons (they had to speak only in German!) During the spring they spent a few days at Clear Creek language camp. For Christmas a “tannenbaum” was decorat- ed with hand-strung popcorn and cran- berries (more popcorn was eaten than strung).
