Back Row: Matt Jenkins, Larry Smith, Richard Folsom, Doug VanAlfen, Doug Hansen. The Thunderbird Marching Band was made up of selected members of concert band and symphonic band. They played at all home games and put on two band shows on the football field. Drum majors were Carl Burrows and Robert White. The marching band placed high in the region, and they have a summer tour planned. Under the direction of Mr. Hill, the orchestra had a great year. They gave many successful concerts, including playing at the dedication banquet, Christmas Concert and graduation. They competed in Region, and Solo and Ensemble, and had exchange concerts with other schools in Lo- gan. Karen Jonsson was concert mistress, and Andrea Van Bloem was the principle 2nd violin. Some of the orchestra members be- longed to other valley or state wide orchestras such as Utah Valley Youth Symphony and Mormon Youth Symphony.
