They held a contest for students to sub- mit ideas. The name chosen was the Thunderbolt ' submitted by Lance Robinson. The staff, under the direction of Bruce Taylor, Edi- tor, and Mrs. Blakesley, advisor, had the responsibility of establish- ing long standing journalism tra- ditions for the years to come. 45

Pep assemblies are part of School Spirit's responsibilities, and Dave Dunkley enjoyed being a cheerleader in one this year. Taping and hanging up School Spirit posters drove Laurie Campbell and Kevin Kemp, along with the rest of the class, up a wall. SCHOOL SMUT As School Spirit Chairmen, Dave Dunkley and John Ashworth headed many School Spirit activities such as the Halloween Dance and Timpview Tunnel of Terror, the Halloween spook alley. The School Spirit Chairmen this year were Dave Dunkley and John Ashworth. They met together sixth period with advisor Sue Roberts and the School Spirit class to plan activities such as the Halloween Party and Spook Alley, and to make posters advertising the upcoming activities. They worked to make posters with more quality and less quantity. 47
