David Marchant, president; Mike Toone, vice president; and Barney Hadden, secretary were CRU- SADER CLUB officers. They studied historical and political military sit- uations by the use of strategy war games, and had tournaments against other schools. The purpose of FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA was to broaden each member's experi- ences with business. The club was involved with conventions, training sessions, speakers and parties, along with promoting Timpview's Free Enterprize Fair which was in December. Officers were Kathryn Keith, president; Shelly Hartvigsen, vice president; Terri Merritt, sec- retary; Barbara Chabot, treasurer; Mary Cole, historian; and Sherry Hoopes, reporter. CRASH CLUB officers were Katy Olivira, president; Timo Stay, vice- president; Konda Lyons, historian; Linley Tanner, assistant historian; and Doug Van Alfen, head weirdo. On November 5, the officers kid- napped the members and took them to an early morning break- fast. Their objective was to have fun. President of the SCIENCE CLUB was Larry Smith. Objectives of this club were to take tours of interesting points of scientific interest, and listen to guest speak- ers speak on science topics. Offi- cers of the CHESS CLUB were Larry Smith, president; Rob Dyer, vice-president; and Doug Hansen, secretary. They sponsored a simul- taneous tournament where the president played twelve games at once. They also played against other schools throughout the year, and participated in the state tour- nament. Larry Smith was also presi- dent of the MATH CLUB and Leigh Lambert was secretary. The club's goals were to promote math, and learn things they didn't normally learn in the classroom. )9
