Page Thirty-one MASS HISHIRY In September, 1953, we entered as the Freshman class of Timothy Christian High School. At that time we never would have imagined what the next four years would hold. Now as the graduates of 1957 we look back over our high school years at Timothy. During the first half of our high school education, we didn't do much as a class, but in our Iunior year we began to make up for what we hadn't done. We began to hold class meetings and elected officers who were: President, Ken Kieftg Vice President, Henrietta Weidenaar: Secretary, Marilyn Blauwg and Treasurer, Lambert Van Poolen. wg!!! The Big Three Shirley M. ludy an Shirley In October of that year we gave the All-School Party. This was a good opportunity for everyone to get acquainted, especially for the Freshmen. Then in November we sponsored a Box Social supper at school. The girls prepared pretty boxes filled with delicious food, and the boys did their part by bidding for each box. About a month before graduation, came the big event, the Iunior Senior Banquet. We as the Iunior class gave this banquet in honor of the Seniors. It was truly an event we shall always remember. Before we knew it, September had already come and we were now the Senior class. We decided to elect new class officers. Our new officers were: Henry De Boer, President: Betty Dykhuizen, Secretary: Muriel Page Thirty-two Continued from Page 32 Huinerp and Treasurer, Kay Youngs. With these officers we entered our final year at Timothy. For the first time an election was held for Student Council President. The three candidates: Ioan Tameling, lim Bulthuis, and Ken Kieft, were from our class and we were proud of each one. In October we gave our Senior play, which was none other than David Copperfield. Each of us helped and worked to make it a success. We had many different affairs to raise money for our class trip and class gift. We had luncheons, car washes, another Box Social, a miniature paper drive, and also sold pop at noon hour. April 22nd was the day we had worked so hard for. As we boarded our train for Washington, D.C. we realized that we had come a long way since September 1953, when we had first entered high school. Iune 14th, as 45 graduates walked down the aisle of Ebenezer Church, we all realized that we had a lot to be thankful for. Though we split up and go our separate ways, our hearts shall always be united back at Timothy, the school we have all learned to love. Our thanks shall always go to our Christian teachers who molded our lives in the right way. ART The drawings seen throughout this year's annual have been contributed by the fine Art Staff of the SAGA. These sketches add variety and interest to the story of 1956-1957. 1 , L N , - XJ - E i1 ,J .1 x , ,F X l ,V , kg S 5 A M.. A E l A W --.-. ' WT. lf' utr...-' ya .L.- A 4 4? 1 Mr . FINANCES Part of producing the SAGA is the procurement of a large sum of money. The excellent financial status of this year's production was provided by our hard working Business Staff. PICTURES Taking pictures was just a fraction of the work done by the Photography Staff. They also developed, printed and enlarged many pictures. As the weeks rolled by, Ralph and Al became a familiar sight in the dark room of the Camera Club. .N . .VK X af, 'W' . z 'S , llllllfllll SIAH Alyce Roelfsema. Cynthia Whitesell. Marilyn Roeters. This was really appreciated by the club because it enables them to do more work in printing and developing. The club usually meets during eighth hour in the chemistry lab. Black out curtains were put there to make an effective dark room. The club is learning how to print and develop pictures. They have also learned how to enlarge pictures.
