VINCENT, superintendent ol' schools in Canton since l9+l7, has been elected unanimously, by a special committee, to become the head ol' the Milwaukee School System. He was one ol' lorty-one candidates lor this position. His work during the past three years has proved his ability to succeed in the Held ol education. XVhile in Canton, he has taken an intense interest in religious, civic, and welfare problems, as well as educational activities. The passing ol' the school levies, the increase ol salaries for all school employees, and his help in promoting the 553,500,000 building program are a few ol' his many accomplishments. How accurate was the chairman of the Milwaukee board which elected him when he said, We have obtained one of the outstand- ing school superintendents in the country.

Through each busy day, Mr. NVhite Finds time to talk with students and give them encourage- ment and guidance. During his two years ol leadership at Timken in addition to his many duties, he has introduced classes in drivers' training, worked toward the establish- ment ol' a student council, promoted the writing ol a school creed, and patterned student elections after those of the city. Because of his untiring efforts in ad- vancing the development ol our school, Mr. XfVhite has won a place ol high esteem in the minds ol' the students. ln their hearts he will always remain a true and personal friend.
