FRESHMAN TEAM The Freshman Team, winning three games and suffering nine setbacks, proved that they have the stuff to make a strong varsity team in 1948. Six of the nine setbacks were very close games, with the losing margin being from one to four points. In city competition, the freshies dropped Lincoln twice, and lost a pair to Lehman. The freshmen felt the sting of defeat in the first round of play at the annual Junior High Tournament at Massillon, losing to New Philadelphia, 27-26. Nieto led the offensive by garnering 83 points, while Vara, Keszeg and Fortion meshed 76, 68, and 64 points respectively.
