Sometimes is cv-ff '-I these lead through dark and obscure places. It is then that there is ' 'jx . --I great comfort in the promise, 'Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet 3' .i,.---ati., -f I and a Light unto my path.' As I meditate upon the twists and turns is is ,R -f . . ' 'X - ofthe Path of life, I can only conclude that, 'the Lord directeth his h -h if fmyl Steps. - as - -L' When the way is dark and the path unclear I am also aware of a 9 Presence. l'm sure if I looked back I'd see two sets of footprints. I Qs ,D Z- .-4 am reminded of an anonymous poem which expresses this ' 0 S k .. jp-A thought. It is entitled, Dream . S 5-----, One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking 9 'ge I along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from i fs 9 , his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the ' 9 tb I sand, one belonged to him, the other to the Lord. I When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked 1 I back at the footprints in the sand. Then he noticed that many 65 ' times along the path of his life was only one set of footprints. He '3 'B 1 also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times Q5 of his life. - That really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. 9m 5 'Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with vi 9 ,fl me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most trouble- Q some times in my life there is only set of footprints. I don't under- stand why, in the times when I needed you the most, you would Q leave me'. Q The Lord replied, 'My precious, precious child, I love you and K , would never leave you. During the times of trials and sufferings, 2- ,I when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried Q' you.' When I am reminded that it is the Lord who directs my steps, I E begin to see life from God's point of view . It is at this time that if many things become clear. My time here at Timberlake Christian School has been by God's design. My stay here is because of Q: 7 God's direction. ' I wonder how my life appears from God's point of view '?
