Last year a project was sponsored which consisted of preparing gifts for residents of Camelot Nursing Home at Christmas. This year one of our own stu- dents was injured in an acci- dent that kept him out of school for several days. Medi- cal expenses were great. The SCA sponsored a project to raise money to help, Dale Abbott awards first prize to Sandy Sutherland, winner of Jelly Bean Contest. Joyce Hamilton receives her first prize award as winner ot the MGM Contest. The very name of this organiza- tion is self-explanatory. Future Business Leaders of America, and that is what they will be. The FBLA took two feild trips, one to Nation- wide lnsurance Main Office, the other to Central Fidelity Bank. The students were excited and amazed at the wide variety of positions that must be filled for these two organi- zations to function. lt's not all work though, the FBLA sponsored the contest, a fund raiser, and two of our stu- dents won a jar of M8tM's and jelly beans.

Due to the hafdwork ct Mrs. Gwen Mcfluaid, the sponsor, and the Societies members, it was again a success. Of all the organizations to which a student can belong this one is prob- ably the most honor. Membership is based upon the students academic standing as weii as other factors. The student must have and maintain an average of 85 in order to be inducted into the National Junior Honor Soci- ety. When a student reaches the 11th grade they may, if requirements are met, be inducted into the National Honor Society. This year we had sev- en all of which were Seniors, The National Junior Honor Society is an organization of TCS top students. Having maintained a grade of 85 and been voted on by faculty mem- bers in the areas ci Scholar- ship, leadership, service, and citizenship, any student from grade 7 thru 9 may, if require- ments are met, be inducted into the society. W This is a great incentive tor hard work and it pays off. This year we had 24 members of the NJHS.
