He dreamed he was walking 9 'ge I along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from i fs 9 , his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the ' 9 tb I sand, one belonged to him, the other to the Lord. I When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked 1 I back at the footprints in the sand. Then he noticed that many 65 ' times along the path of his life was only one set of footprints. He '3 'B 1 also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times Q5 of his life. - That really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. 9m 5 'Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with vi 9 ,fl me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most trouble- Q some times in my life there is only set of footprints. I don't under- stand why, in the times when I needed you the most, you would Q leave me'. During the times of trials and sufferings, 2- ,I when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried Q' you.' When I am reminded that it is the Lord who directs my steps, I E begin to see life from God's point of view . It is at this time that if many things become clear. I will be thankful for Christian Education. I will be thankful for the Scripture I was taught, espe- cially, Wherewithal shall a young man tpersonl cleanse his therl way. By taking heed thereto according to Thy Word ..,. With my whole heart have I sought Thee. O let me not wander from They commandments ..., Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee. I will be thankful for the faithful men and women who taught me the precious truth of They Word - such as Therefore I esteem all Thy precepts concerning all things to be right: and I hate every false way. When l leave T.C.S. I will want to be a practicing Christian, and not in name only. I will remember, Order my steps in Thy Word and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. As I leave the familiar halls of T.C.S. I am thankful that at this age there has been already instilled in me life's most important values and objectives as expressed in this verse, Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. I know the path of life will lead through some dark and obscure places. I will be thankful for the presence of ONE, so closeand so real. I will be comforted by a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. I must go now and when the way becomes difficult and dim I will remember that Jesus said, I am the Light of the world. This will be a comfort to me and I.will say to Him, For Thou art my lamp, O Lord, and the Lord will lighten my darkness. First, what is Christian education? It is the educat- ing of the whole man - physical, mental, and spiritual. As we discover and apply the inter-relationships be- tween these areas from a Biblical point of view, we have a Christian education. We feel that when we apply these Biblical Principles that are embodied in Christian education we are following God's direction for developing the total person. Second, at T.C.S., a Christian education is distinc- tive because, in addition to what we have just men- tioned above, we are learning the principles upon which a Christian nation and society functions. America is-different because of her heritage and foundation upon these principles. As we learn and apply them in our daily living, we begin to see the part that we are to play in God's plan for us as individual Christian Americans. - ORIENTED MINISTRY LOCAL CHURCH- ORIENTED SCHOOL Executive Committee - L to R, John Stevens, Tom Showalter, Dr. Paul Hatmacher, Dave Globig, Chairman Richard Jett, Fred McWane, Dr. Robert Sanders, Lewis Garbee, George Sumter Jr. MX 'wi ,Q 2 J Campus I Timberlake Rd. Campus II 300 Horizon Dr. AN EDUCATION THAT IS THOROUGHLY CHRIS- TIAN IS . . . Centered on the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, The Revealer of Truth. There are great Biblical Principles that must be integrated into the subjects ot the curriculum before there can be an educa- tion that is Christian. An Education that applies the Principles of our American Heri- tage. Our nation was not only founded by men of Christian Princi- ples, but the form of government and the documents revealed Christian Principles. These Christian foundations must be restored if the rapidly deteriorating foundations of our nation are to be rebuilt. An Education that inspires students to Attain Academic Excel- lence. A healthy competition, a recognition through awards, and the challenge for each student to attain his academic potential, combine to inspire students to superior academic achievement. An Education that offers a Well-Rounded Program in Athletics and other School Activities! An Education that Trains Students to Exercise Christian Self- Discipline! Students who learn to govern themselves by the Princi- ples of the Bible do not need to be governed by others. -11523-f M Dr. Robert Sanders, Superintendent TIMBERLAKE CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS SENICDF2 I-IIGI-I That was such a good program. 41 The tenth grade dissects more frogs. , N a'ol rr, Q if ,,r.r r ,,', rr.a' IW Don t I get a Present? , I ls A ff .Y 1113 'f 'FI U v ' ar Don't look at the keys, Cindy! kr I Irrk k ,1 1 , 77 1 l 'V .-: Ham h gh V n . We began practice for those who could come early, one week before school began. We went about practice this year with more de- termination and with better ideas for winning. We went into each game with the attitude of winning. We decided that it we gave the Lord our entire selves during practice, that He would be able to reward us in our games. And that is exactly what the Lord privileged us with. As a J.V. team we wanted first to bring honor to the Lord by our actions and attitudes: then we wanted our school to be proud of our hard work. Way to save that ball. That is what has happened this year at T.C.S. with the choir. Led by Mrs. Glenda Rosevear, the choir performed several concerts at area churches. Not only did they make joyful noises, they made beautiful melodious, harmoni- ous strains of music. The choir sang for many of the func- tions ofthe school. From Christmas until the end of the school year they sang at several assemblies, at P.T.F. meetings, the Employee Appreciation Night, a con- cert at Timberlake Baptist Church and at Graduation. Mrs. Rosevear conducted a concert last year while still a student at LBC. E E The Spring Concert at Timberlake Baptist Church was a big success. Cindy accompanies TCS choir. Children have developed to the point they can wait on themselves and are so eager to learn new things and to please the teacher. God knew this would be the case. This is one reason He is so emphatic regarding the instructing of little ones. He says Sutter the little ones to come unto me . . . In Deut. 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto the children . God wants the little ones to be taught His Word and His Way. Psalms 1l9:9 reads Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed to thy word . God's Word to these little ones, will assist them in later life, to walk in the path chosen for them by God.
