Guadeloupe It was not just a dream but a reality. The Seniors were told on the first day of school that their Senior Uip would be outside the U.S. That sounded won- derful to a lot of people but where was the money coming from ? With that ques- tion in mind but determined not to let it become a barrier, the Seniors went to work with 39,900 as their goal. Mrs. Miles, our advisor, was there to work and encom-age and Pastor Hatmacher was around to counsel and clear the way for projects. We sold posters and citrus fruit., washed cars and baked, had skat- ing parlies and Slave Days. At the fall festival we sold Brunswick stew and hot dogs. Later we had a spaghetti supper. Was it worth it? After we returned from Guadeloupe , we decided it is always worth the effort to make a dream into a realty! TOP LEFT: Every slave needs a break. I ORS MAKE IT The Beginning Of The End The year flew by with so much to do that the Seniors weren't quite sure where the time went to. Along with college boards, term papers and exams, there was the Senior trip to Guadeloupe . Graduation pictures, caps and gowns, and announcements were ordered. It was also a time for looking back and realizing we were the first to walk this pathway from T. C. S.
