Guadeloupe It was not just a dream but a reality. The Seniors were told on the first day of school that their Senior Uip would be outside the U.S. That sounded won- derful to a lot of people but where was the money coming from ? With that ques- tion in mind but determined not to let it become a barrier, the Seniors went to work with 39,900 as their goal. Mrs. Miles, our advisor, was there to work and encom-age and Pastor Hatmacher was around to counsel and clear the way for projects. We sold posters and citrus fruit., washed cars and baked, had skat- ing parlies and Slave Days. At the fall festival we sold Brunswick stew and hot dogs. Later we had a spaghetti supper. Was it worth it? After we returned from Guadeloupe , we decided it is always worth the effort to make a dream into a realty! TOP LEFT: Every slave needs a break.
