BOARD or DIRECTORS Q PROVIDED LEADERSHIP J Q FOR DISTRICT 9 S IN TIMES OF RISING SCHOOL POPULATION -5 Chairman of the Board Superintendent of Schools Ted Jacobs Jack Hornback Board Member Board Member Board Member Board Member Karl Zweifel Jim Coon Glenn Rosenburg Ivan Norris Although not often expressed directly the appreciation of the entire community goes out to these five men elected to serve as board of directors ofTillamook's district 39, and to the superintendent of schools, his assistant, and the district clerk. It is their task each year to insure the continuance of good schools in the area, to care for the present build- ings, and to prepare plans for erection of future structures, to hire good teachers, and to budget funds for the running of one of the county's big businesses: education. Their task this year was complicated by a muchlargerstudent enrollment than they had anticipated necessitating hiring of more teachers and endeavoring to provide rooms for the greater load. They met regularly once a rnonth, and sometimes District Clerk more, in the office of the superintendent conducting Assistant Superintendent Blanche Lemire this business. Certainly few public officials in the John Jensen district served more faithfully than our school board, and the high school student body was definitely appre- ciative for the fine facilities for education provided them.
