Prefident Smith appointed a Connnittee to rr-vi--e the Ntudent body conftitution to better serve the interests of coming yeurf. Itnportunt changes included the adoption of a full year term for officers. 21 revised elective sywtein. and ri stream- lined student government. The council prevailed through exeitinq times in the hiqh selmrwl. During the seeond Semester the basketball team won the dixtriet 10 ellmvzpion-liip and went to Eugene. The council voted to supply the tiekevs to tlmw tegielif-rs who had worked at basketball games in the armory. In addition. in 19,4-9 TIIS inaugurated three new athletic activities: baseball. track. and wrestling: and boxing. An unpreeented number of THS students participated in Competitions of various types throughout thc state. All of these had to be passed through thc Council.
