B T O cBlg Tlme Cperatorsl F lrst Term Am organization faced with a staggering dc bt at its initiation has an almost insurmountable obstacle This 19 the situation the T H S Student Council faced in the fall of i947 to the tum of some S2000 By the end of the semester much of this dm bt had been paid off This speaks well for the activities of the president Rolly Noteboom and business manager errv Dentel Earls in the year the possibility of continuing the Tilla H1 he ws commercially was discussed because of lack of funds the old mimeograph style had to be reverted to Special attention was directed by the group to force all organizations to provide representatives to the Council An amendment making it possible to select assistant editors for the Tilla H1 News and the Kilchis in the seventh week in the school year rather than the seventeenth was made to the constitution. Efforts were made through the term to increase the num- ber of dances and also to increase the attendance at the dances. Special meetings were held with the Dance Committee to improve the situation. The Council made it possible for the G. A. A. to have a badminton tournament by providing raquets and shuttlecocks. Although many sessions spent discussing the possibility of securing ping-pong tables and equipment for toumament play in the high school nothing positive was done. This particular council triad to meet regularly at least once a week and in general did so. The last few meetings were spent discussing such routine matters as ushering at games fliasketballj sponsoring March of Dimes and electing yell-leaders. Two political parties were formed to provide officm rs for the next council the U. S. fbnited Studentsl and the Topps.
