AMANDIO MENDES Amandio Mendes, fhe young man wifh fhe million dollar smile, who has been faking work in 'lhe firsf period senior English class during fhe pasf six monfhs, is a nafive of Funchal, Madeira lslands. His wife, Mrs. Mendes, Alexandria, aged six, and Louis, aged fhree, are sfill living in Funchal. Tillamook, he says, is a good place: fhe climafe is somefimes good and some- fimes noi so good.
