Page Twenty-two The Academic A--,,----.---, PROPHECY The year is 1968, and all we hear from a certain person is the Olympic Games. That person is Willie Wehinger, who has entered the mountain climbing competition. and says, while winning first place, that stopped for a rest, halfway up The Matterhorn. He looked around, and this is what he saw: It seems Donnie Averill took up the barber profession, after all. He now runs his own shop in the little borough of Running-Water, down in Kuka- monga Gulch. Donnie just graduated from the college, where he was captain of their football team. Hooker jenck is still farming, and says the land is much better for cows down Coronado, Califomia way. QCan't imagine why he decided to move there.j Eileen Shaw, M. D., Ph. D., Surgeon, etc., is the most eminent doctor of the day. Besides being head of the staff at St. Vince-nt's Hospital, in Portland, she is still fiddling around with her violin. The Tillamook County Fair is in progrress, and just guess who's the Big Cheese of that organization . . , none other than Marilyn Fitz Fitzpatrick, who is following her father's footsteps. Also at the Fair, we find a large crowd around a certain booth. Why, my goodness gracious! It's Rita Gass and her fancy work booth. All that crocheting she did in school seems to have been to some avail. Kid Blaser, our World Lightweight Champ, after beating Lesnavitch a few years ago, seems pretty hale and heary . . . says he's going to retire to the fami, real soon like. Marcella Hoffert now has her own radio program over KTIL, where she broadcasts all the city news and gossip. We hear Marcella enjoys this work immensely. Betty Couzins, while waiting for Lloyd to graduate. has joined a nationally known debating team, and has won several awards for her debating f?j. Wonder why? Just look at all the practice she had. We see Carly Reding turned out to be a family man, as did Charlie Butts. Carly is the president of the Grange, and holds Swiss dances pretty regularly. 'Charlie is inviting everyone to his first son's wedding dance, to be held in the near future. Don't we wish we could, go! The department stores, in 'Tillarnook, are building up rapidly, but the most outstanding is Saekley,s , and the manager is none other than Lizzy Wostel. We knew that after working there so long, there had to be a promotion.
