SCHOOL PLANT Tilden’s School Plant covers three separate areas. They are the lunchroom, the bookroom, and the cross- ing guard. The lunchroom, with its fine cooking facilities, provides Tildenites with a daily balanced meal. The lunchroom is supervised by Mrs. Mary Shannon. The bookroom, which is also an important part of the school plant, is regulated by Mr. Friend. He counts, distributes, and reissues all of the school’s hooks. Tilden’s crossing guard is Mr. J. Lawrence. He is in charge of regulating the traffic before and after school hours outside the school. Tildenites will agree that these services rendered by the School Plant contribute greatly to the safety and well-being of the individual student. The women in our lunchroom not only serve Tildenites their meals with efficiency but also with a smile. Officer James Lawrence, Tilden’s crossing guard. Mr. Friend, the bookroom manager. 27

Mrs. Frank Selmer, Mrs. Davis Miles, Mrs. George Korbos and Mr. Edmund J. Kubik discuss educational problems. The Parent-Teachers Association of Tilden is comprised mainly of parents and teachers of stu- dents attending Tilden. It serves not only in pointing out and solving the many problems that face parents, teachers, and students; but it also serves as an excellent example of organization. During the year interesting programs are pre- sented concerning present day problems. The program theme for this year is “Tilden in Orbit”, and the aim is for the “Countdown of Tomorrow.”
