Mr. Apking, Mr. Hicks and Mr. Brinkman. !OAg:5ica! glclucafion Tilden's physical educational program is one ot the most complete in the Chicago school system. The Course includes three days of gym, one day ot swimming, and one day of health throughout the school year. In gym, Ioe Tilden is taught to strengthen his body and to develop a sense of co-ordination. The ability to co- operate with others through games is also emphasized, as this is of great importance in the life of all Americans. Health classes stress the importance ot acquiring and maintaining a sound body. This training helps students lead healthful lives in later years. An opportunity to become an expert swimmer is avail- able to Techmen in the swimming classes. Students who excel, may receive high honors. Last year, 256 Techmen received Red Cross Swimmers Awards, and 16 received Lite Guard's certificates. Lining up tor a shot at the basket
