SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY' Come ye seniors, faculty, and friends. Come and ride with us to the World of Fate in our Star Queen space ship. As we gaze into our telescreen the first scene that meets our eyes is that of a tall form of a forest ranger. At closer view we find it is Ronney Skrivan. He is waving at someone in the distance--his pretty Eskimo wife, Phyllis, whom he met during high school. The scene changes--we come to amagnificent buildingin the heart of Vietma and there, in a laboratory filled with amazing equipment, we find ahandsome young man bending over test tubes. It is our old classmate, Dean Ander- son. He has grownagoatee and mustache but we can still recognize him. And now, what's this? It looks likeFifth Avenue in New York--the telescreen focuses on an exclusive beauty salon. It is owned by ShirleySc.hultz. She is dressed in highest fashions and by the names on the ownership papers, she is not yet married. Now we find ourselves looking down on the rolling plains of Texas on an immense ranch. It looks very pros- perous and the ranch house is modern and well built. We see the man eating breakfast in bed. He has a contented look on his face. Could it beBruceLindah1? And peeking around the corner in the doorway are five little boys who look very much like Bruce. The telescreen clouds and the scene shifts toa huge courtroom in Chicago where a much-publicized trial is in progress. But surely one of our classmates is not the condemned man. No, the screen is focused on the lawyer, who, with eyes flashing is swaying the jury in his defense of the accused man. John Varner is this compelling lawyer. Now we see New York in ablaze of lights but they are dirruned as we enter on an old apartment house. Agroup of evil-looking, unkept men are seated at afilthy table and the only light is a candle stuck in a whiskey bottle. What?? Surely the telescreen is wrongll Not one of our classmates is of this motley group? No-- we move on to see a girl crouched in a closet jotting down notes asshe listens intensely to the men. It is Janice Botsford, who is a combined detective and crime reporter for the NEW YORK TIMES. Well, she always said she wanted adventure, and it looks like she's getting it. Again the scene changes--we are out in the fertile ,farmlands of Nebraska. We see a short young woman carrying feed to the chickens. She is hurnrninga peppy tune, showing us she is happy. Who can it be? Surely not-but yes--it is, Carol Reikofski and at the window in the farmhouse we see a little brown-eyed girl watching her mommie outinthe yard. The scene fades--now we areinSt.Louis, Missouri. But why--who's that?? Coming closer we readily see two girls in white dresses entering. Is it?? Yes, it is--Delores Bossard and Jackie Hansen. Wonder if they've found any handsome interns?? And now what do we see? We are back in Nebraska again. In fact, it looks as if we are near Meadow Grove. Gazing intently, we see another farmhouse. But who's that driving the tractor?? Going closer it is not hard to see it is Shirley Sharples. But wait--There's someone on the tractor with her. It must be Robert J r.

SENIOR CLASS PROPHECYH Qcontinuedj Again the screen is clouded. Now we are in a baseball stadium and there is Galen Marks, manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Looks like he's trying to make a bet with one of the Yanksl Guess he'l1 never learn. Our next view takes us to the great New York Business Association Building. Beside the desk of the president sits Darlene Zurcher. Looks like she's making out fine. Good looking boss, too. Now we are taken to Norfolk, Nebraska, where we find Lois Thies completing her latest book on HOW TO CATCH A MAN AND KEEP HIM. Hope she has success. Suddenly we are in a magnificent castle inEngland. Why are we here? Was there royalty in ourclass that was unknown to us? Yes, there sits Lady Saxon, and in getting closer we know it is Marva Jean Zauner. She fits into this luxurious setting as though it was meant for her, alonel The castle fades and now we are witnessing a wedding in the midst of a group of photographers. Don Klieder is the one we recognize. He got along so good with the girls--his wife will surely have a time! Next we are in a kitchenwatchingShirley Appel busy making a cake. It looks as if she, too, is happily married. Again the scene changes and through the mist we see a five star general in command. He is none other than Kenneth Eggers! We always knew Kenneth would make a good soldier. The next scene is that of an office. Seated behind a big desk we see Edith Rahde. She is the president of a girl's business college. Looks as if she, too, has been successful. Our scenes are starting to fade out but we are still able to see one. It is Karleen Sanne writing a book on HOW TO GET ALONG WITH YOUR IN-LAWS. Seems she's having a little trouble that way. Well, we have reached the end of our ride in the Star Queen. From what we have seen, our classmates have been successful in the jobs they have chosen for themselves. CLASS HISTORY Away back, years ago, it seems a startling event occurred in the year 1940. This marked the beginning of a tireless education for some yet enjoyable and successful education for others. They had previously thought that school was a wonderful place, all full of surprises. were they correctly instructed or were they to be sadly dis- illusioned--that was to be found out by only 12 kindergarten pupils starting out on this great adventure. They were: La Rita Cornettg Euveda Jacobs: Jackie Hanseng Kenneth Knoxg Galen Marksg Shirley Schwartingg Shirley Shupeg Ronney Skrivang Marilyn Thompson and Gracy White and Carol Reikofski. Of these, three have the honor of remaining to graduate together: namelyg Galen Marks, Ronney Skrivan, Jackie Hansen and Carol Reikofski.
