Jerry stopped writing to Paulineg he spent allhis spare time dreaming about fried chicken and spoon bread. Pauline was patient for a while, for she knew it must be something like being in the Army. So she kept writing and shedding a tear now and then over the nice, plump-looking picture of Jerry, taken before he began to starve. But when Jerry let both Valent1ne's day and Easter pass without either candy or flowers, it was too much, and she accepted Dr. Ch1ld's proposal. CHather suspicious that Doc should have timed it so nicely just then.J After the Starvation Period, Jerry and Homer went into the restaurant business together. They said they hoped never to be without food again, and they signed a 99 year contract with the firm of Schnoor, Real, and Foss Grocers. Another one who will make a fortune out of food is Bob Catron. Soon after he graduated he set up a plant for treating fresh-baked bread with plastic, so that it can be eaten 8 months later He does not patronize his plant, however, for he says his w1fe's CHer name is Betty J hot biscuits and rolls are quite good enough for him, without waiting eight months Arvid Marks and Clifford Ruegge have gone to raising orchids They are so popular with the girls with whom orchids are so popular, that they found it would be necessary to cut the costs They raise lots of orchids and have a few to sell, if you ever want to buy any It looks like some of our friends have gone to raising m'nk coats, too, be cause I caught a glimpse of Patty Westphal and Marlene Garrison, each with one on and one over her arm Just as you would expect, lorma Petersen and Emma Dittrich have taken up hillbilly sing1ng,and now put on their own 'Whoop and Holler Opera over most of the big stations Deloris Ritter and Beverly James have become world famed psychiatrists, and Janet James and Alyce Paulsen have liked to oppose each other, 1 a whether their finds about the same that Eleanor Carstensen patronizes Gregory Peck and wants to know how coming along more rapidly taken uo plam reading They've always friendly way, of course I don't know client tally, or not I noticed though, both offices She is still smitten with she is coming along, also, why she is not Bonnie Hale has become, of all things, a ventriloquist When I asked why, she said she thought that if she ever married a sorta' bossy man, it would come in well You know, if he asked her, 'Please dear go down and 'ix the cellar windovn she could, if she would rather bein the living room reading a magazine, just answer from the cellar when he called down to know how she was getting on It's an interesting thing, getting all the gossip nway ahead of time The Class Prophet KE!
