Speakung of the boys they were all stundung a faet due to a certaun unstututuon called the belt lune A fond O memory to the gurls that year was the lubraruan vuho attempted to show them how to walk up the staurs wuth a book on theur heads unuor year that vas the year a new coach at T H S New ton Godfree was the talk of the town that was the year when the school began T Day that was the yeur when the South Georgua Hu Y Conference was un Tufton That year the first debate team un several years was organuzed at Tufton Hugh wuth three of the four debaters yunuors Mary Sue Martun and Howard Smuth on the afhrmatuye sude and Bob Culpepper and a senuor partner on the opposung sude An attempt by Howard Smuth Joe Wulson and three senuors to install student government at T H S was a great eyent of 1940 That yunuor year vuas the year of permuts member?
