june 4, 1945. Dear Diary: ' Tonight we were graduated. Can it be pos- sible that we shall be at Bessie Tift no longer? Four years ago we were called verdant F resh- men, and we really were. l can't remember much about the first part of that year except schedules, new studies, new teachers and l'00lI1-lliates. And then December-that infamous date gave all of us a deep seriousness. That year brought us sadness and pleasure. How could any of us for- get that first college prom with I Don't VVant to Set the VVorld on Fire! Or the thrill of hav- ing big sisters. Hut what a relief at last to be wise ol' sophomores! Thanksgiving dinner with Uncle Sam Hats was a great occasion for us. During our Sopho- more year all the boys we knew went in the Ei. :Q service. Daisy chains and good-byes to the seniors were a foretastc of our own graduation. An then jolly juniors with little sisters all our own from the grandest Freshman class. Open house and take-off were a lot of work but more fun. I clon't think we really knew the meaning of graduation until we received the robes from the departing seniors and saw our flag flying. This, our Senior year, has been the best year of our college life. O the thrill of Round Table with its colorful costumes! Our pledges to the king to uphold ideals will always live in our hearts. And then investiture .... VVe became real seniors when we received our caps and gowns. So much has happened this year-open house, take-off, the play, and the strengthening of friendships that will forever remain dear in our memories. Yes- Class l45 goes forth alive with the lessons our Alma lVIater has taught.
