The word Chi- aroscuro, of Greek derivation, means lights and shadows. The staff has worked to give you an annual that will long he a highlight of your college days for you, one that will catch up and hold the lights and shadows of the year, and make you live 1581 them all over again. We have striven to represent impartially every phase of stu- dent activities. Our hands have finished their task, and laid down their tools. You are the recipient of the results of their labors, and you are the judge of whether or not we have accomplished our aims. If the 1944 CHIAROSCURO is a mirror of stu- dent activities of 1944 for you, if it affords you any pleasure, we will consider all our efforts amply repaid.
