English Depurtm rut . . . and there are others that we remember . . the boy next door who used to mow the lawn on Saturdays . . . the promising college student who was to have graduated in the spring . . . your brother . . . the boy who took you to the movies on Friday nights . . . the young doctor who had just hung out his shingle . . . your cousin. Those lads didn't want a war. They were pretty content with the idea of growing up, working toward a job that matched their dreams, marrying and raising solid citizens. But when a little guy with H81 a mustache joined hands with another little guy with buck teeth to take over some things that were not theirs, the war all of a sudden became a grim, necessary taslc that had to be done. They left their girls, their jobs, and a lot of their dreams to march out and do the dirtiest job that ever faced a nation of young men. You and I still peacefully attend classes, eat hot food, sleep in clean beds, because of that fiesh and blood wall between us and the terror that is war. We pause to remember? We can never forget.
