The Theta Chi Omega Honor Society was organized in 1920 for the purpose of encouraging a high standard of scholarship and of promoting the highest ideals. Membership in the society consists of bona fide members of the junior and senior classes. In addition to scholarship, character, general attitude, and interest and participation in college activities are talcen into consideration in determining the eligibility of students for this society.

The Bessie Tift Student League was organized in 1935. The officers consist of a president, two vice-presidents, a secretary, and twelve district chairmen. All students registering in the college automatically become members of this organization and are expected to cooperate to promote the general welfare of the college. The purpose of the Student League is to present Bessie Tift correctly to prospective students, and to promote student interests on the campus. It is the desire of the Student League to further the growth of the student body, obtain the highest standards of young womanhood for membership, and magnify the college's standards and ideals through the life of its students. Honorary Mrmbrr i Alpha Psi Omega was organized as an honorary dramatic fraternity in order to provide an honor society for those doing a high standard of work in dramatics, to cultivate a taste for drama, to foster the cultural values which we believe dramatics develops, and to unite the dramatic forces of the college and 'university theatres throughout the United States and Canada. No fraternity has a better right to hear Greek letters than a dra- matic fraternity, for it was in ancient Greece that drama became a definite part of the art and culture of the civilized world. The coat- of-arms is the stage .of a Greek theatre. Across the frieze is written the Greek motto which means Seek a life useful. The badge is a monogram of the first letter in the motto, Alpha, Psi, and Omega.', i951
