As the 1971-'72 School Year ends my hope is that you will realize the great heritage that is yours, by remem bering that the Good Lord gave you being and a soul, your parents gave you love and guidance, your teachers gave you knowledge, your friends give you trust, your Country gives you opportunity and life offers you a challenge These are priceless giftsj Now what will you do with them? Will you use them in building a firm foundation for the future: or will you ignore them and tear down what others have built for you? l watched them tearing a building down, A gang of men in a busy towns With a ho-heave-ho and a lusty yell They swung a beam and the sidewall fell I asked the foreman: Are these men skilled, And the men you'd hire if you had to build? He gave a laugh and said, No, indeed. Just common labor is all I need. I can easily wreck in a day or two Which Are You? What builders have taken a year to do! And I thought to myself as I want on my way Which of these roles have I tried to play? Am I a builder who works with care, Measuring life by the rule and square? Patiently doing the best I can? Or am I a wrecker, who walks the town, Content with the labor of tearing down? Author Unknown fgw, K Am I shaping my deeds to a well-made plan, Secretary MRS, TINY PIERCE Principal DELVIN TASKA YOU ARE IMPORTANT You are important. When you were born the population of the United States, your state and your community increased by one. One more mouth to feed, one more body to clothe, one more potential patient for doctors and dentists, one more student for schools, one more member for a church, one more prospect for the undertaker, All these services and hundreds more, the community stands ready to furnish you. You will take pride in paying for them promptly. Besides these things you can pay for, you are inheritor of many things you can pay for only by doing something to continue the progress of humanity. This is the legacy of youth and you are now preparing yourself to accept this legacy and pay for it. May you do this grace- Delvin L. And lastly to all the Juniors, we leave the distinction of being Seniors and the right to rule the halls of T. H. S. May you rule in peace. Senior Class Prophecy 1972 Ten years have passed, and we are ready to look up the T. H,S. '72 graduates for their reunion. We find they have been living together in Moletown, an experimental underground city founded by nuclear scientist JAMES RICKAWAY, designed to keep out environmental pollution. . We are met by the elevator boy, KENNETH PESAK, who takes us down into the city. As the door opens, we are immediately searched by the city's two top-hand guards, MARSHALL RICHARDSON and BOB BLACK. They are stationed there to keep out all possible polluters. After being searched, we pass by the detention cell where DONNIE GENZER, charged with pollution, is being held for deportation. An electrically powered taxi, driven by LAWRENCE HURTA who was awarded the H1972 Safe Driver of the Year Award, takes us on a tour of the city. We stop by the courthouse where VANESSA DAVIS GAINER is trying to divorce her husband BEN. After ten years and ten kids, she suddenly discovered their signs weren't matched. Judge CHINA MAE BOONE is now overruling Vanessa's attorney JANET GUYNES. The defending attorney ANITA LEZAK smiles victoriously at having finally defeated Janet at something. Next door at City Hall we see Constable MARTIN TOBOLA dragging in DALE JOHNSON, not for being drunk, but for polluting himself. We hear Dale muttering, I-was only testing the wine. Mayor BOBBY Peca KRENEK is dictating a proclama- tion to his secretary DORIS ZEMANEK asking everyone in Moletown either to use Lister- ine twice daily or cut their breathing in half. Walking across the street to ANNIE MAE KACER and JANE ORSAK'S Skinny Minnie Reducing Center, we are scolded by TERRY SHIMEK for leaving footprints on her freshly waxed street. We enter the center to find STEVE SPARKS and LETRICIA FOUSE putting in long, hard hours in their crash reducing course. Our next stop is Paul's Perfectly Unpolluted Petroleum owned and managed by PAUL DANNELS. Paul recently developed a new fuel that produces absolutely no pollution. He regretfully adds that sales have not been too good because it doesn't produce any energy either. While we're there, we see ROBERT MERTA in the back room fixing flats after his many experiences on shell roads. Much to our surprise, we turn and see the Moletown Marching Band under the direction of drum-major KATHY SAHA. The entire band is composed of BARBARA JOHNSON and DEBBIE JASEK. In order to prevent noise pollution, Mayor Krenek has outlawed the use of reeds in their clarinets. DONALD HICKL is marching directly behind them wearing a sign to publicize the opening of JANICE HADLEY'S new candy shop, Janice's Jellied Jewels. I Beside Janice's shop is the very popular hangout of Moletown, DORNAK'S DAIRY CLEAN. DOUG 'IS car hops are from the agency, JUNEK'S INC. , run by Joyce and Cynthia. These sexy customer grabbers are TONY SLIVA and ANTHONY HICKL. As in every town there is an import shop. Moletown's shop holds bottles of polluted air distributed by MIKE BAKER and NANCY VAVRA. We see SUSIE BOLLING THOMPSON and RAMIRO MARTINEZ buying bottles to remind them of the feed lots that are now things of the past. Of course, there is also evil in every town. CURTIS HEBERT and SHARON SARDINEA are just recovering from an overdose of polluted air, GLORIA FLORES and SALLY HOLLAND are using their high school training by desperately trying to save BARBARA SLIVA'S hair, damaged after she dived head first into a pool of chlorine. The pool manager, DEBBIE FOUSE, is responsible because she absentmindedly forgot to add the water to the pool. After seeing all the '72 graduates of THS, we decide to return to El Maron. Approaching the elevator, we are asked one question by our escort James Rickaway - what we think of the pollution-free city. We all agree that a little dirt never hurt anybody, and we are glad to get back to El Maron. 1 4 1 A 4 , . ,,...,,,..W,,...W, ., ,,,.W,,..., N ,,,, 1 lzwimnuwf:-M. , f.,-ff-. fs-:name wa-wrf--I,1,1-11a-fun..f:1-ww I , ' ff Junior Class O fcers President - Mark Rickaway Vice-President - Kathy Janak Secretary - Geneva Dabelgott Reporter - Gail Goth Treasurer - Andy Pennington Sergeant at Arms - Darrell Piwonka CLASS FAVORITES Gwen Bram and Fredrick Pierce SONG Colour My World COLORS Navy Blue and Lime Green FLOWER POPPY MOTTO Today high school, tomorrow the world.
