Y Y . .,.,w .. .1 . .. , . . - V Commanding OffiCG1' Commander David G. Yoshihara Commander David Yoshihara, of Honolulu, Hawaii, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1979 as a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering. ' Following commissioning, Commander Yoshihara was assigned to USS REEVES CCG-245 as Assistant Combat Information Center Officer and later as First Lieutenant. He followed REEVES with a tour as Aide and Flag Lieutenant to Commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group ONE. He then attended the Naval Postgraduate School gradu- ating as a Master of Science in Operations Research. Retuming to sea, he completed tours as Operations Officer in USS CURTIS CFFG-385 and on the staff of Commander, Destroyer Squadron THIRTY ONE. From November 1990 to March 1991 he served as the Operability Manager in the Surface Ship ASW Systems, CProgram Manage- ment Office 424J, working on the SQQ-89CD project. His most recent sea tour was as Executive Officer aboard USS FIFE CDD-9915. ' Commander Yoshihara recently completed a tour on the Joint Staff, Operations Directorate CJ-35, where he served as Chief, Nuclear Command and Control System, and Exercise and Training Sections. He wears the Defense Meritorious Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal Cwith three gold starsl. Commander Yoshihara is married to the former Chiaki Murata of Fukuoka, Japan. They have two sons, Andrew and Timothy. I 6
