EXECUTIVE OFFICER LIEUTENANT COMMANDER BERNARD L JACKSON LIEUTENANT COMMANDER BERNARD L JACKSON UNITED STATES NAVY LCDR Bernard L Jackson was born in Macon Georgia He was commissioned in December 1978 via the Naval ROTC program upon graduation from Savannah State Col lege with a BS in Chemistry His first assignment was as Gunnery Officer and Damage Control Assistant on board USS EL PASO QLKA-117l. During his tour, EL PASO completed an extensive overhaul and con- ducted a major deployment to the Indian Ocean. In August of 1982, LCDR Jackson was assigned to the Naval ROTC Unit, Savannah State College, where in addition to per- forming duties as Recruiting Officer!Sophomore Instructor obtained a BS in Mathematics. In November 1985, LCDR Jackson was assigned to USS CONNOLE QFF-10561 as Engineering Officer until October 1987. During his tour, CONNOLE completed a major deployment and won the Battle In October 1987, LCDR Jackson was assigned to USS JOSE- PHUS DANIELS QCG-27j as Engineering Officer until October 1989. During his tour, JOSEPHUS DANIELS completed a major deployment to the Persian Gulf, won the Battle E and was the recipient of the Arleigh Burke Award as the most improved sur- face combatant. Subsequently, LCDR Jackson served on the staff of COM- CRUDESGRU EIGHT from October 1989 until November 1991. During his tour, CCDG-8 participated in several operations, including Operation DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM while embarked on USS SARATOGA QCV-601. A LCDR Jackson's personal awards include the Meritorious Ser- vice Medal, Navy Commendation Medal fthree awardsl, the Navy Achievement Medal and various senfice medals and unit awards LCDR Jackson is married to the former Cassandra Gale Pryor of Macon Georgia They have two children Nichole and Anthony

EXECUTIVE OFFICER BIOGRAPHY Lieutenant Commander Steven C. Miller, originally from Joplin, Missouri, received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1979. Upon commissioning, Lieutenant Commander Miller served in USS GOLDSBOROUGH QDDG 20, as Communications Officer, Auxiiiaries Officer, and Damage Control Assistant. Following his Division Officer tours in USS GOLDSBOR- OUGH, Lieutenant Commander Miller was assigned to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations as Executive Secre- tary for Joint Chiefs of Staff Affairs. Lieutenant Commander LIEUTENANT COMMANDER STEVEN C. MILLER Miller later served as Operations Officer in USS BARBEY QFF 1088y and as the commissioning Operations Officer in USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN QCG 571. Lieutenant Commander Miller reported as Executive Officer in USS TICONDEROGA QCG 47y in May 1990 and served during two deployments in Operation DESERT SHIELDXDESERT STORM. He reported as Flag Secretary to Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet in April 1992. Personal decorations worn by Lieutenant Commander Miller are the Navy Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of fourth award and the Navy Achievement Medal. Lieutenant Commander Miller and his wife, Nicole F. J. Toesca, reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
