EXECUTIVE OFFICER COMMANDER PETER W. BULKELEY, USN . I v , s I E 5 Q A 2 E 35 3 Commander Bulkeley hails from a Navy family and grew up in Various Navy communities on both coasts of the United States. He entered the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland in June 1964. Commissioned an Ensign, U.S. Navy in 1968, his first tour of duty was onboard USS AGERHOLM CDD 8265 where he served as Gunnery Officer and ASW Officer. After completing the Department Head Course, U.S. Naval Destroyer School, Newport, Rhode Island in March 1974, he then served as Engineer Officer, USS JOHN S. McCAIN CDDG 361 homeported in San Diego, California. In July 1976 he reported to NATO Headquarters, Brussels, Belgium as a Ly member of the U.S. Military Committee to NATO. He then served as Operations Officer at the Naval Communications Station, Rota, Spain until June 1979. Commander Bulkeley's next assign- ment was as Assistant Chief of Staff CCommunicationsj to Commander Cruiser Destroyer Group ONE. Commander Bulkeley reported to Fleet Training Center, Norfolk, Virginia in April 1982 as Prospective Executive Officer, TICONDEROGA CCG 471. I Commander Bulkeley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Oceanography and a Master of Science Degree in Management. He is also a graduate of the Royal Naval Staff College, Green- , li, wich, England. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commenda- tion Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal. He also wears the National Defense Service Medal Vietnam Campaign Medal with three stars, the Navy Expert Pistol Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He is married to the former Carol Anne Simmons of Patterson, New Jersey. The couple reside in 1rg1n1a Beach, Virginia with their daughter Lauren Leigh and son Christopher Tare.
