if CAR IVAL TUWE sfgdb xi. - Ala MDOGPATCHM For the past four springs Thurstonites haye thrilled to the excitement of the annual ,lunior Carnival. This affair has become a junior class tradition ever since the class of '57 presented the first school-wide fair under the theme of the Roaring Twentiesf' Although the juniors have control of the ac- tivity, any clubs or classes may participate in the carnival by way of a booth or a sales stand. Each organization keeps half of the profit. while the juniors collect the remaining half. The money taken in by the clubs is put into their treasury for any reason they may desire, but the money received by the four classes is put into their senior trip fund. Profits from the carnival make up a high per- centage of the revenue of each class's treasury. The second carnival, in 1957, under the sponsorship of the Class of ,58, was one with a western touch, and the following spring, the present seniors, used a Dogpatch theme 'for their carnival. All the characters stepped out of this land of Al Capp and came alive when one stepped into the little auditorium for the variety show entitled, The Sadie Hawkins' Race. Fun for all! What have we here. A confusion of sexes so it seems ,...-iQ, The variety show entitled, The Sadie Hawkins' Race, was only a small part of the success of the Junior Carnival. Here is the cast for the show.
