HINGATHERING?-all day?-ME? We--ll, l-don'tHknow. Maybe-O.K.! l'll try it-pick up my lunch in the cafeteria and hurry because the car is waiting? O.K.! See you later--mmmm-looks a bit like rain, but here we go anyway-a little rain won't stop us when there is such a great need among the poor ofthe world for food and clothing, medical supplies, treatments, education-say! that would make a good approach, think l'll try it-wonder if we'll bring back as much as last year-what? Me take the first place? O.K.-lhope they're not home!!-Oh, good morning-we're students from Thunderbird Academy calling in the interest of world-wide medical, educational, and welfare work .... Whew! They gave a dona- tion! Now for the next place .... Well! The day's over, and there's the academy ahead. Sure have enjoyed the choruses we sang in the car on the way back-and it didn't rain much, and most of the people we met were nice-and l did O.K. too! Let's see, we're supposed to go to the auditorium for a meeting, so we can find out how much was donated today. lt's already started-say! look at that blackboardwsome of the cars really did fine-S6O-S7O-S8O- and some less, of course. What's Professor Stone doing? Oh, oh, l see- some folk had no money but wanted to help out somehow, so they gave tins of food, and clothing-and Prof Stone is auctioning it off! Say! He's getting twice as much as it would cost in the store, and everyone is really enioying it-and those clothes! What will those boys ever do with those enormous dresses? Now they're posting the totals-will it be as much as last year? Wow! We went over the goal and over last year's total, and have raised 51589.58-isn't that swell? There'll be plenty of people helped because of our day's work-and it sure was worth it! -F. CRUMP Ingathering Minute Men: fleft to right!
