Elder Andrew C. Fearing Are You Rea y for Jesus to tome? FALL NVEEK OF PRAYER THE PATTERN of school life would be incomplete without the spiritual refreshing of the Week of Praver. Mid-October brought Elder Andrew Fearing, president of the Nevada-Utah conference to be with us. Morning and evening he delivered powerful yet friendlv thoughts, and the presence of the Holy Spirit was felt, as at the close of the week, fiftv-nine students made clear their desire for special reconsecration, in- cluding baptism for some. Still to our ears come the soft strains of the theme song, 'Tm Longing For Iesusf' as nostalgically we reminisce on the inspir- ationfilled week . . . what of the resolutions, the promises, the hopes? Have they been fulfilled in your life? 001' Spiritual Draftsman . . . in word sagem . 5 ' R O Stone Associate Pastor F. Crump, M.A. . . . assistant principal, Bible, has been here for two years. re You Faithful In All Tlmt you Do . . ? SPRING WEEK OF PRAYER . ually and intellectually Dr. Paul Quimby, pro- fessor of religion and history at Pacific Union College, proved a giant of learning as he focused our attention on eternal principles during the spring week of devotion. March 25-31 was the week, the auditorium the place, morning and evening the time for intimate friendly acquaintance with Bible men and women living again before our eyes. They seemed per- sons and personalities rather than mere names in a book, as Dr. Quimby presented much of his topic in the language and style of the Orient. Freshman - Sophomore - Junior - Senior - which memory of the week is brightest in your experience? ls it the realization that you too may some day wield such an influence before kings and rulers as is now taking place in foreign fields? Is it the harmony of the choruses that were sung - the living messages from the Bible, - the student-offered prayers that made heaven seem a little nearer? Or is it the moment of surg- ing devotion you felt as you testified that Christ is your personal Redeemer and Friend - or the seriousness of the moments of consecration when you again pledged yourself to the service of the King? Whatever it be - cherish it through the days ahead - preserve that memory, for it will stand with you through trials to come - and be your key to the door marked The Unknown Future, which opens upon Eternity - this, your memory of the spring week of devotion. -F. CRUMP PHYSICALLY, he is not a large man - but spirit- Elder Quimby in song .SHIRLEY ANN UPDEGRAVE, piano, organ, voice, at- tended Walla Walla College. Mrs. Updegrave has been 1 here for two years.
