Classes Education has been going on as long as the race of man. Therefore, there have always been students to question the strange world surrounding them. Each nation had its own rules of education. The ancient Chinese stressed philosophy and astronomy. Education in Sparta was education for war, while her neighbor, Athens, accented the importance of the individual. This proves to be the secret of true education. The great Roman civilization contributed the alphabet used in the writings of the western world, the Latin language, the foundations of modern law, and the basis for our 20th century school system. From these past worlds came the pillars of our present day education princi- ples. Each level of learning, no matter what country, community, or school, empha- sizes education as an important factor in world unity .
