Miss Hangsterfer: l'm sorry, I am sure they didn't mean to. April 25-Report cards today. People in general seemed quite happy. April 26-A dual track meet, T. R. vs. Sturgis, was held at VanAlstyn Held. Score, T. Rf-70. Sturgis-44. April 27-Many of the teachers wished to go to Ann Arbor to a meeting of the Schoolmasters Club, so there was no school today. April 30-Keep Off the Grass! Athletic field has been seeded. ' MAY May l-Important Varsity Club meeting held tonight in order to decide whether girls or boys should wear the club pins. May 2-Junior and Senior reception invitations were given out today. A movie, The Bad Egg, was shown in the Auditorium tonight. May 3-Some people were so badly overcome by spring fever today that they found it difncult to climb the stairs to their classes after fire drill. May 4-Third and Fourth hours were both omitted because of an unusually long and interesting assembly. Mr. Miller played several selections on his trombone. Clocks all stopped during the night. May 5--The D. S. Ciirls won Hrst in the Glee Club district contest at Kala- mazoo, while the Band won second in their contest. The track team took third place in the track meet at St. Joe. Eirst. second, and third, not so bad, after all. May 7--The Varsity Club gave their play, A'The Arrival of Kitty. both in the afternoon, for the Ward children, and in the evening. Everyone seemed to enjoy it greatly. May 8--The Band is practicing hard for the Contest, Saturday. They furnish music almost every day for the seventh hour assembly room period. May IO-The D. S. Club won first place in the Class B State contest held at Ann Arbor today. They stay there tonight and broadcast over the radio tomorrow. Some singers we have, l'll say. The Seniors took all the honors at the Inter Class Track meet, as usual. May ll-Fifth hour was omitted today. Mr. Clow of Centreville gave a talk on The Battle of Gettysburg. May 12-The Band won fourth place in the contest at Lansing. This is better than last year but there is still room for improvement. May 14'-The Juniors, Seniors and the Band were excused from school after Hfth hour to attend the funeral of Harold Null. May 15--Everyone has to watch his chicken coop now days. The Juniors are out after chickens for the banquet. May l6-The long looked for has happened at last. The Juniors. Seniors. Eaculty and School Board enjoyed the banquet and reception very much tonight.

April 4-The marcel which LeRoy Hoover acquired over spring vacation has almost disappeared. on account of the damp weather, probably. April 6-The Hnal Popular Election was held today in assembly. Harold Linge represents T. R. High in the Oratorical Contest here tonight. Good luck, Harold. April 9-Hurrayl Harold got second place. . April lO-Mr. Peeke's Modern History Class was studying about China. One Member: ls it in China that they throw baby girls into the river? Mr. Peeke: Yes June Slote: ul don't blame them any: I would, too. April ll-At three-twenty-five an assembly was called today in order that more enthusiasm might be aroused for the Concert given by the XV. S. T. C. Glee Club tonight. April 12-A number of pictures have been circulating in school for two or three days. Cause: Chemistry classes are developing snap-shots. April 13-Hurrayl No school. The teachers have gone to the teachers' in- stitute for a vacation. April 14-Blanche Bauserman won first place in the vocal contest held at Grand Rapids. Detroit and other cities much larger than T. R. competed. April I6-This was blue Monday for more than one reason. Six weeks' tests started today. April l7-Considerable excitement was caused in the fourth hour Modern History Class when Mr. Peeke settled a Hght between Charles Tubbs and Delbert Watts by knocking their heads together. The Band and Orchestra give their annual concert tonight. April l8-The l9Z9 Annual Staff held their Hrst meeting today. April 19-Vivian Sessions. ftranslating Frenchj : He folded his coat about him and pulled on his trousers. It read: He put on his coat and pulled on his gloves. April 20-Band and Orchestra letters were given out in assembly today. This is the first time members of these organizations have ever been recognized in this manner. April 21-The track team went to Niles today for the track tournament but did not win. April 23--Today is the beginning of the end. First day of the last six weeks' period. No hours were omitted. The Eighth Grade examinations are being given in the auditorium. May l9-The regional track tournament was held at Kalamazoo today. The winners here go to Lansing next Saturday. ' 'X' May 21-Chemistry classes are cleaning up the laboratory. This is one sign that the end of school is coming. May 22-The Varsity Club had a banquet in the sewing room this evening. May 23--The Senior play cast is working hard on their last play which is to be given the nfth of June. May 24-Senior invitations were given out this afternoon. Nlay 25-The Exchange Club entertained the Senior boys at a dinner this noon. Nlr. Horst made about a dozen announcements in the short assembly today and then called on various people to repeat them. Members of the High School as well as Mr. Horst got a great deal of amusement from the answers. May Z6-Several boys went to Lansing yesterday to participate in the state track meet held there Friday and today. lf any of these boys place, Three Rivers will be making quite a name for itself. Nlay 28-Luck was certainly with our boys Saturday. Jack Hyatt took first place in the low hurdles. and Bob Seekell came in first in thffnur-forty yard dash. May Z9-Senior exams began yesterday and are still continuing today. No wonder they all look so long-faced. May 30-Memorial Day-No school. May 31-This is our last chance to review with our beloved teachers this year. Orchestra journeyed to NVhite Pigeon to play for the graduating exercises there. JUNE June l-The Annual Field Meet was held today at Centreville. Consequently we had two vacations this week. June 3-Baccalaureate Sermon was given in the High School Auditorium by Rev. Telford. i June 4-Eirst, second, and third hour undergraduate exams were held today. Nlisery and more of itf June 5-The Senior Play, Pals Eirstf' was given in the Auditorium this evening. More exams today. June 6-Seventh hour exams were held this morning. June 7-The teachers are busy correcting exam papers. The Commencement Exercises took place at 8:15. The address was.given by Rev, M. S. Rice on The Value of Cireat Men, to seventy-six members of the Senior Class. 7 l I I f
