I -zjri, I judging Teams The judging teams of the Agricultural department had a singularly successful year, competing in many contests and nearly always bringing home the bacon. The boys who took part in judging made their first trip of this season to the West Michigan State Fair. The boys making this trip were those placing highest in the 1927 County Fair. The boys judging grain were: XVarren Shug. Dean Bernhardt and Rolland Ferguson. Those judging vegetables were: XVarren Shug, Donald Avery and Rolland Ferguson. Those judging stock were: Leslie Mohney, Alfred Le Mun- yon and Raymond Tackaberry. The grain judging team placed second in the state. In the 1928 County Fair Three Rivers took first in stock. poultry and grain. The boys placing highest in stock were: L. Mohney, A. Le Munyon. and H. Tessin. The boys in poultry judging were: L. Mohney, H. Tessin. and R. Tackaberry. The high individuals in grain judging were: Harvey DeLong. XValter Kaiser and Clarence Wagner. Three Rivers also competed in a stock judging contest held at Middlebury. Indiana. ln this contest we took hrst place, the following boys placing highest: Rolland Ferguson, 272 points: Roy Wagner, 270 points: and Raymond Tacka- berry, 271 points. They also took part in a grain judging contest at Kalamazoo again taking first, ln the state contest held at Lansing May Hrst and second. the following boys represented Three Rivers in grain: James Roberts, XValter Kaiser and Darrell Rockwell. ln stock judging, Alfred Le Nlunyon. April 4-The marcel which LeRoy Hoover acquired over spring vacation has almost disappeared. on account of the damp weather, probably. April 6-The Hnal Popular Election was held today in assembly. Harold Linge represents T. R. High in the Oratorical Contest here tonight. Good luck, Harold. April 9-Hurrayl Harold got second place. . April lO-Mr. Peeke's Modern History Class was studying about China. One Member: ls it in China that they throw baby girls into the river? Mr. Peeke: Yes June Slote: ul don't blame them any: I would, too. April ll-At three-twenty-five an assembly was called today in order that more enthusiasm might be aroused for the Concert given by the XV. S. T. C. Glee Club tonight. April 12-A number of pictures have been circulating in school for two or three days. Cause: Chemistry classes are developing snap-shots. April 13-Hurrayl No school. The teachers have gone to the teachers' in- stitute for a vacation. April 14-Blanche Bauserman won first place in the vocal contest held at Grand Rapids. Detroit and other cities much larger than T. R. competed. April I6-This was blue Monday for more than one reason. Six weeks' tests started today. April l7-Considerable excitement was caused in the fourth hour Modern History Class when Mr. Peeke settled a Hght between Charles Tubbs and Delbert Watts by knocking their heads together. The Band and Orchestra give their annual concert tonight. April l8-The l9Z9 Annual Staff held their Hrst meeting today. April 20-Band and Orchestra letters were given out in assembly today. This is the first time members of these organizations have ever been recognized in this manner. April 21-The track team went to Niles today for the track tournament but did not win. April 23--Today is the beginning of the end. First day of the last six weeks' period.
