HOEKZEMA lt is a custom decided by precedent for the Agricultural Club to present one play annually. This current year they enacted, Two Days to Marry, which will hold an enviable place in not only Ag. but school history as well. It was a spritely comedy in three acts which portrayed the climax in the life of James J. Dare. who must marry in two days or lose a huge fortune. It was well played and the characters demonstrated the time and effort. James P. Hoekzema di- rected the production. The characters were: James J. Dare, a wifeless heir ., cascaa Emily Jane Pink. blacker than ink L.. Simon P. Chase, black as his race ..,,, Imogene McShane, a sweet young thing ,L Sadie L. Boise. a widow by choice ,.... Ruford B. I -zjri, I judging Teams The judging teams of the Agricultural department had a singularly successful year, competing in many contests and nearly always bringing home the bacon. The boys who took part in judging made their first trip of this season to the West Michigan State Fair. The boys making this trip were those placing highest in the 1927 County Fair. The boys judging grain were: XVarren Shug. Dean Bernhardt and Rolland Ferguson. Those judging vegetables were: XVarren Shug, Donald Avery and Rolland Ferguson. Those judging stock were: Leslie Mohney, Alfred Le Mun- yon and Raymond Tackaberry. The grain judging team placed second in the state. In the 1928 County Fair Three Rivers took first in stock. poultry and grain. The boys placing highest in stock were: L. Mohney, A. Le Munyon. and H. Tessin. The boys in poultry judging were: L. Mohney, H. Tessin. and R. Tackaberry. The high individuals in grain judging were: Harvey DeLong. XValter Kaiser and Clarence Wagner. Three Rivers also competed in a stock judging contest held at Middlebury. Indiana. ln this contest we took hrst place, the following boys placing highest: Rolland Ferguson, 272 points: Roy Wagner, 270 points: and Raymond Tacka- berry, 271 points. They also took part in a grain judging contest at Kalamazoo again taking first, ln the state contest held at Lansing May Hrst and second. the following boys represented Three Rivers in grain: James Roberts, XValter Kaiser and Darrell Rockwell. ln stock judging, Alfred Le Nlunyon. Herbert Tessin. Leslie Mohney and Raymond Tackaberry. The results of this contest have not been received. L X'v'nf'li1-Fffulif
