The position of Coach was filled very neatly by Bernard Birkelbach. Those in the usual starting line-up were Starnes, Teggeman, Lieberum, Dickey, Klotz, Ribbeck, Scott, Scruggs, Dowell, Rosen- blad and Hopson. 'Subs' which Showed up regularly were Kuhl, Wilde, Caesar and Richter. The Tigers started their season with a game with Smithville at Smithville: when the horn blew, the game ended with a dead-- locked score of 0-0. The next contest was with a team that had not appeared on the Tiger circuit for a good many years. The Tigers fell to a superior Bastrop '11' to the tune of 13-0 loss. The next week Hutto forfeited their game, so the Tigers met Sharp on Tiger territory. Once again the Tigers were thwarted in their attempts at victory and were handed a 13-0 defeat. The next week was open but the Tigers used it in good, hard practice sessions in preparation for Thorndale. This game was a thriller and a heart breaker for only in the last seconds did Thorndale score the winning touchdown, thereby taking away the Tiger's chance to retaliate. When the Tigers went to Rockdale they met more Tigers and as you would expect, it was a good game with Thrall coming out on the long end. The last game of the season was played at Giddings. The Tigers came out on the short end of a 19-6 score. This was the last game for Teggemann, Starnes, Lieberum, Hopson and Dowell. After the end of the season had come and stock had been taken, Ribbeck was found to have made all-district center, while in the 19-T defeat Thrall handed Rockdale, Tommy Starnes made the three touchdowns which put T. H. S. on top.
