FESTIVAL PLAY «■ Ji w rnkW? Jk KL This year the Drama Festival was an experiment which paid off. TISS capitalized on its talent by writing and choreographing its own entry. The result was the versatile production of You CAN Eat a Hat, You Know! At the Festival held at B.C.I, in March our entry walked away with five of the available nine awards. Leon Vandervalk, won Outstanding Technical Achievement. Shelley Buote won an Award of Merit. Judy Skelton won an Outstanding Performance Award. Janet Flikweert won an Outstanding Performance Award and shared with Director, Diana B. Earle the Adjudicator ' s Award for the final scripted material. DRAMA CLUB This year the Drama Club held its third annual One Act Play Festival in the fall of 1978. This year the evening was entitled Un Poco de Todo (a little of everything). Two plays were presented along with a display by the TISS Gymnastics team. Ms. Angie Yarrow directed Sociability with Cathy Carswell, Debbie Grieg, Mark Pike, and Bruce Spanton . Ms. Earle directed an original production entitled Tug of War . The cast included Jacquie Jones, James VanBlitterswyk, Shelley Buote, Pam Roe, Chris Schmitt, Judy Skelton, Janet Flikweert, and Brad Pashnicki. Music was composed and performed by Tom Locke. S.E.S. The S.E.S. Club which was started to provide a focal point for students interested in the social sciences, had another very active year. Along with their annual visit to a city of historical importance the club also sponsored students who attended several UN seminars. The club ' s chief source of in- come this year was the sale of locks in September. Paul Storer served as this year ' s president.
