On April 30, 1955, the Thorp High School Gymnasium was the setting for our formal dance. The gym was decorated in white and blue streamers with a red canopy over the main entrance, white fencing, decorated with red roses, around the floor to form a Paris Cafe. In the center of the floor stood an Eitfel tower, which brought out our theme, April in Paris, very well. Very appropriate music, sounding' like tiny rain drops on the studio's window- panes, was furnished by George Day and his Quintet. King Donald Ryniec and Queen Mary Ellen Pabich led the grand march and were attended by Mitch Riser and Ruth Smigai. The crown bearers were Cathy Conway I I' and Neil Broeren, 1.1.14 royal couple. Many thanks go to our advisors, Mr. Witzig and Mr. Nuskiewicz for their many hours of work and all the advice which did so much to make our prom such a great success. l':ige Forty-four

Two members of each class were chosen to compose a Home- coming Committee. They were: Gerald Olson, Yvonne Krupa, James Schauer, Jeanine Dallas, Diane Zaborowski, Marlene Burkhardt, Harold Hallanger, Faye Winger, and Keith Marshall. Under the direction of Miss Brask, and Mr. Hanley, this committee was broken down into several sub-committees. Each member was thus in charge of a task in pre- paring for Homecoming. Upon the shoulders of these committee members fell the responsibility of such things as obtaining firewood for the bonfire, arranging the parade with its floats, getting judges, selecting an orchestra for the Homecoming Dance, decorating the gym, and many other behind-the-scene items. We wish to thank each member of the committee as well as any other faculty advisor or studio stars who helped make another Homecoming such a great success. Page lfrrrfy-six
