CURTIS DRIVE 'l'o huild llll the Student Activity Fund and help pay for publications and screen productions, the 'I'horp High Studio annually goes along' with the Curtis Magazine Publishing Company and sells magazines. As in previous years, the Seniors and Sopho- niores-: competed against the Juniors and Freshmen. At the end of the two-week drive, We found the Sophomore and Senior team netted a total of 2l4l,l!I-4.25, and the Junior and Freshman team netted Ll total of 5lS1,3l5'T.4'T. Hroiiglit into the spotlight at the end of the drive was Bruce Soli as top salesman with a total sales of S2l46.41. His Oscar for such wonderful per- forinaiice was a Benrus watch and ensemble. At the end of the drive the customary drawing was held at which Marlene F4urkhardt's name was drawn for a beautiful Bcnrus wrist-watch and ear- rings and necklace to match. llavid Guell was the winner of a stuffed monkey, Zip, and Bernice Butter- field was the winner of the little dog, Poppy. With the aid of the class captains: Judith Papierniak, Sam Daines, Roseniary Badzinski, Ingrid Lindquist, Susan Baldeschwiler, Mike Sneider, Kitty Kenney, Ann Hedler, Bruce Soli, Fred Kenney, Pat Mamayek, and Jackie Hedler, and the two competent secretaries, Bernice Butterfield and Jo Hmielak, Thorp High Studio completed another successful year of Curtis Drive Sales which amounted to 352,551.72 As a reward for our fine production, we were given a half day off from school.
