This task was well accomplished by the Thorp High School Band under the direction of Roy H. Brede. The Band worked feverishly to produce four concerts: a fall, Christmas, winter, and spring concert. The group also played for pep meetings and ball games. On March 23, a large number of members participated in the Solo and Ensemble contest at Eau Claire. Other activities participated in were the Clover- belt Pre-Music Festival on April 24, at Owen and the District Music Festival at Eau Claire. The Band also exchanged concerts with the Stanley High School Band. Through the help of the Band Boosters, a French Horn and a Bassoon were purchased. Fifteen Seniors are leaving the band this year. The following are the band ofiicers for this year: President - Jim Schauerg Vice President - John Kloudag Business Mana-ger - Mary Ellen Pabichg Libra1'ian - Ralph Sherbergg Stage Managers - Ray Price and Yvonne Krupa. l':igc Tliirty
