I-Iomecom' n 1976 Homecoming Court-fl. to r.J Mary Zealy Walton, Nancy Merritt, Theresa Hudson, Denise Gassett, and Kami Blumer. We all knew that only one girl could be Miss THS, but which one? As the weeks before Homecoming turned into days, and the days into hours, the excite- ment and anticipation of the final verdict became the ever present factor in everyones mind. Why all the worry and wonder? Why all of the jealousy and compe- tition? Well, the least that can be said is that all of the girls were qualified to be homecoming queens, but only one could get Miss THS. The lucky one was Miss Nancy Merritt. Annette Avant, Miss THS '75, and Mr. Charles McKinney, Princi- pal, follow Master Owen Stepp and Miss Marie Kemp, crown and flower bearers, onto the field.

C eerleaders 1976 The football cheerleaders used their talents well this year. They could holler setter than anyone else. They backed the team with all their force eyeri when the tear fl was far away from home. Even when the crowds were small, the cheerleaders made up for it. With Mary Walton, captain, and Dottie Frady, co-captain, leading the other cheerleaders, they did an excellent job of backing the Saints.
