and to have fun was included in every Thornton day. Cafeteria tables were the gathering places where friends met friends to pass along the latest Word on many subjects. That could mean tests or class assignments or personalities. . Club business was often transacted there. Bus tickets to out-of-town games, Purple X tickets, banquet tickets, play tickets were bought and sold either at the little ticket booth or by individual salesmen at the tables. Plans, for the evening or the Week-end were discussed. ln fact, lunch was the principal break in the day. s? Faculty lounge Was the spot Where teachers Went to get away from the hustle-bustle of classrooms and corridors. Gym classes gave everyone a chance to Wake up at the beginning of the day or to unwind at the end. lf the weather Was such that classes could go outdoors, that was all the better. LUNCH HOUR in the student cafeteria was a good time for mugging the camera. Newspapers were popular in the FACULTY LOUNGE -Miss Fredriekson, Mr. Landherr, Mrs. Upton.
