FACULTY SUPERVISION took a variety of forms in the course of a day at Thornton. lt might be helping a class with a research problem, as in the Social Studies library. It might be training a band for maneuvers at a pep session or on the football field. lt could be Watching over distribution of newspapers in home room on Wednes- day mornings. Perhaps supervision took a more indirect form, behind the scenes, when a counselor or a teacher looked up a student's record to see what his previous problems and attitudes had been. In the faculty cafeteria at lunch time or coffee break, there was a chance for informal comparison of notes on each other's problems or for relaxing over that second cup of coffee. A class assignment in the SOCIAL STUDIES library means research on a definite problem. H Band maneuvers at a PEP SESSION in the gym could he both eye filling and ear splitting. Mrs. Bisherg, VISITING COUNSELOR, checks a student's records in the registrar's office.
