Helene Gottschling accepts award for the junior Class Hoat from Sandy Anders and Steve Benos, MC's. Homecoming was the big event of the fall semester because it lasted for a whole week-end. The entire school was involved in decorating floats for the parade. Earlier, though, in September, Girls Club gave their traditional get-acquainted party, the Freshman Stand-Up. Girls Athletic Association entertained their parents and Phys Ed teachers at a Play Nite in No- vember and Girls Club invited their dads for the Dad-Daughter dinnerjust before Christmas. Some of the dads had to earn their way by being in the stage show following the mealeand did a goodjob. 17

Thornton's advanced Drawing and Painting has attracted enough students to he established as a separate class. The group did a window display for the community fund in the Telephone Com- pany office and helped in the Christmas display, which was a departmental project. An exhibit of Thornton's art work was shown at the Teachers Institute at Rich Township High School. Thorntonls music department had its annual Tour Fund project of selling Christmas candy. Concert tours are usually planned every four years. Twenty-ninth Annual Spring Concert was the Combined festival of the high school band and all the grade school bands in the school district 205.
