AQJA Each of us found our own particular 7' field of interest to explore. There was Joyce Hay, active in KIP, It if if Thornton's student council. Some of us made the honor roll, like E Rolland Bethards. Some of us, like Bill Edwards, became leaders in other fields such as sports and Boys Club and Girls Club M work. The many activities in the various clubs gave each of J by us a chance to try our hand at committee work. Our KIP andq., 4QfPurple X accomplished much in the way of providing worthwhile social activities and, in general, improving our already high standards of sportsmanship, conduct, and character. i Q i 0 a n was a year in which suede shoes, corduroys, and levis increased their popularity, and more important, a year when our armed forces were increased in Korea and other far-away places. Even though our minds were troubled with the affairs of the day, we went through our regular routines, living each day as it came. I I morning near the Lincoln statue, in the KIP office, and in ' the Boys Club office to discuss our teachers, dates, and homework.
