This gives the student a smattering of the more specialized science courses, such as biology, chemistry, and physics. The science of biology, a study of living things, teaches the classifica- tions, anatomies, and functions of the living things of the world, and helps the student to understand more about his natural surroundings. Clad in white aprons and hair nets, the girls learn hy experience how to prepare food. The girls in the advanced cooking classes plan, prepare, and are hostesses for dinners during the year, to which guests are invited. The other half of the Homemaking Department is the clothing classes. Both beginning and advanced classes reconvert old or out-of-style dresses and suits into attractive garments. liach year the girls in the clothing classes have the opportunity to model the garments they have made at the Mother-Daughter Tea and Style Show.
