GRIIIIIIIIIIIG CHROIIOLUGIES If a student majors in history, as many students do, he will study civics and probably liuropean history, covering the period of history from the time of the cave man to Louis XIV, and then he may study modern history. The latter becomes modern only in the last chapter. It goes back to the time of the Crusades and brings one up to date. Then there is the must , American history, required of every student for graduation. In his junior year, the student studies speech, composition, and literature. If the student has an A or B average during his first three years, he may select debate, journalism, dramatics, or speech for his fourth year's work. If his average is below B , he is required to take the fourth year course which offers English literature and further work in composition. Page 23

Clad in white aprons and hair nets, the girls learn hy experience how to prepare food. The girls in the advanced cooking classes plan, prepare, and are hostesses for dinners during the year, to which guests are invited. The other half of the Homemaking Department is the clothing classes. Both beginning and advanced classes reconvert old or out-of-style dresses and suits into attractive garments. liach year the girls in the clothing classes have the opportunity to model the garments they have made at the Mother-Daughter Tea and Style Show.
